After the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Paris slowly returned to normal. The city now boasts 120 kilometers of bike lanes, a convenient legacy of the Olympics. With 400 kilometers of cycle lanes in the Ile-de-France region, cycling has become more accessible and easier for the residents of Ile-de-France. This convenience will be maintained post-Paralympic Games.

All the Olympic and Paralympic sites in the Ile-de-France region, except Villepinte, can be accessed by bike using cycle paths protected from car traffic. This is a first in the Games' history, ensuring the safety and security of cyclists.

The network includes 28 km of cycle paths in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, which connect the station to competition venues such as the National Velodrome, the host of Olympic and Paralympic track cycling, and the nearby BMX Racing Olympic venue.

Cycling is encouraged during the Olympic and Paralympic periods (26 July to 8 September). There are 46,000 bikes available for hire and over 27,000 additional bicycle parking spaces, including 3,000 permanent spaces at the main railway stations. Near the Olympic and Paralympic venues, these spaces are free of charge and supervised during the competition sessions.

The 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games have left a positive legacy by providing 10,000 temporary bicycle spaces near the Olympic venues in Paris. After the Games, these spaces will be relocated to the Paris region's sports centers, schools, and municipal facilities.

Charlotte Guth, Head of the Bicycle Mission at the Department of Roads and Travel of the City of Paris, stated: "In Paris, cycling has become the fastest and easiest mode of daily transportation rather than just a weekend hobby. The Games have presented a unique opportunity to accelerate these changes, and we have already witnessed an increase in cyclists on our tracks during the Olympic Games!"
