An international report issued by (BMI) Fitch Economic Research Agency predicts that the total number of tourists coming to the Sultanate of Oman in 2023 will reach about 3.5 million, an increase of 20.8 percent compared to 2022.

The report indicated that the annual growth in the medium term (2023-2027) is 7.4 percent, with continued demand for leisure and business tourism, support for economic recovery, and high oil prices for investment in the tourism sector.

The report also predicted that the Middle East region would be the largest source of inbound tourism in 2023, as the number of arrivals from the region will reach 1.5 million tourists, followed by the Asia-Pacific and Europe with about 606 000 and 320 000 tourists, respectively. The number of arrivals from Africa will reach 72 000, and North America will source about 73 000 tourists.

According to a report from Forward Keys, the Sultanate of Oman saw a significant increase of 126.7% in international flights from January 1, 2023, to June 25, 2023. The rise in flights is attributed to an increase in international markets within the region and beyond, with a minimum stay of one night.
