Despite the international economic crisis, some destinations continue to receive hotel investment through new and highly anticipated openings.

Riviera Nayarit, one of the most popular Mexican Pacific Coast destinations for luxury and nature, will open two extraordinary luxury properties this fall, Conrad Punta de Mita and One & Only Mandarina, which together will add more than 400 new rooms to the hotel offer in this Mexican destination.

While the recent months have been difficult for international tourism and hotel chains due to the strict health measures over the COVID-19 pandemic, the large luxury brands have decided to bet on a destination known as “Mexico’s Pacific Treasure”, and the proof are these two openings.

Conrad Hilton in Mexico

Conrad Punta de Mita, the very first Conrad Hilton resort in Mexico, will open its doors at the beginning of September in Litibu, an area of beauty and natural wealth located in Punta de Mita. The new property will have 324 rooms and suites, all with great views to the ocean and the majestic mountain Sierra de Vallejo.

Following the global trend of adapting to the environment, the hotel is influenced by local culture represented in beautiful Huichol works of art installed in common areas and guest rooms.

Another of its great attractions is that the hotel is located in the same private development as the Litibu golf course, offering guests an 18-hole playing experience designed by Greg Norman.

The luxurious resort is complemented by three pools, four restaurants and three bars, as well as the Conrad Spa. This original concept also includes a temazcal (a traditional sweat lodge) and seven treatment huts located among the greenery and connected by a tunnel of plants and flowers.

One & Only Mandarina Resort

At the end of the year, the much-awaited One & Only Mandarina Resort will open to visitors. Located on a spectacular cliff facing the Pacific Ocean, this hotel has 104 rooms and private villas that will become a reference of ultra-luxury hotels.

One & Only, the exclusive collection of resorts in some of the most exotic places in the world, will present its One & Only Mandarina Resort in November, a unique concept of comfort, beauty and serenity located within the La Mandarina tourist development.

The hotel has 104 rooms, different restaurants, a spa and a convention center with high quality and beauty standards. In addition, the entire complex includes one of the first collections of the One & Only Mandarina Private Homes: 54 luxury independent villas stand above treetops or perch on cliffs, each with its own private pool, mixing elegant interior designs in the middle of the lush tropical jungle. The ideal place to rest and connect with nature!

One & Only Mandarina Riviera Nayarit becomes the latest addition to the One & Only Resorts collection, which are located in some of the most emblematic destinations in the world, including Maldives, Cape Town, Dubai, Australia, Rwanda and Mauritius.

“The appeal of Riviera Nayarit continues to attract national and international hotel chains, thus contributing to its growth in terms of tourism offer; we are happy because despite the pandemic big brands continue to believe in this destination,” said Marc Murphy, director of the Riviera Nayarit Visitors and Conventions Bureau (OVC).

Renovations and More…

Besides the opening of the Conrad Punta de Mita and One & Only Mandarina, the pacific coast expects renovations on the Four Seasons Resort Punta de Mita, which since July of this year welcomes guests with a reinvented look following a comprehensive multi-million dollar investment that took several years.

In addition to its legendary hospitality, quality and personalized service, this paradisiacal resort offers guests a secluded beachfront and plenty of room for activities to rejuvenate and disconnect.

On the other hand, several renowned hotel brands, such as Marriott, AM Resorts and Auberge Resorts are also ready to unveil their new properties in the region, while others have scheduled openings in the next five years.
