If you are a frequent traveller, you will no doubt have scoured the internet for the best value for money hotel to stay in. But have you considered serviced apartments? If you travel up and down the UK on business and are usually away from home for weeks at a time, a serviced apartment could work out to be a much better deal in more ways than one. Here is a short guide to help you make up your mind.

Budget

The budget may be an issue. Perhaps you assume that a fully serviced apartment will be out of your price range. However, think again! It has been found that serviced apartments are just under 30% cheaper than hotels when broken down into a per night cost. If you were to stay in a 4-star hotel, the average UK cost is £85, whereas the average nightly cost for a serviced apartment is £70. Additionally, some serviced providers have a cheaper per night cost the longer you stay, which is great if you have a business project that is some time away from completion. As well as this, you are paying for much more space with a serviced apartment than a hotel room, which makes it even better value for money!

Location

If your default is to book a hotel because you know it is likely to be near the city centre and all the amenities, it may surprise you to know that most serviced apartments from reputable providers like Dream Apartments are actually also centrally located. For example, if you were looking for serviced apartments in Middlesbrough, many luxurious apartments are in the centre of town.

Hidden Costs

With a hotel, you are paying for the room, and many of their services will be charged to your final bill. For example, you may see the hotel advertising free Wi-Fi, but this is often restricted to certain hours or a certain length of time per day, and you’ll often find it is very slow! However, with a serviced apartment, genuine free Wi-Fi is provided as standard to all guests, and they know that you are more than likely using it for business purposes, so they will have better speed and connection.

Also, a luxury apartment provides things like laundry facilities, so you won’t have to pay over the odds for the hotel laundry service and wait around 24 hours to get your clothes back!

Meal Times

When you book into a hotel, you may be limited to eating at the hotel restaurant, which is only open at certain times of the day. With a serviced apartment, however, you will have all the kitchen and cooking facilities you need to prepare your own meals at a time that suits you. Hotel restaurant prices can also be extortionate, so bringing your own food and using the kitchen provided can save you quite a bit of money. This is also a perfect advantage for travelers following a strict diet.

So, if you’re looking to grab a deal next time you book a trip away, consider serviced apartments!
