New survey indicates “HostelBookers are, on average, 8.7% cheaper than Hostelworld!”
A recent independent study, commissioned by HostelBookers and undertaken by Reed Business Insight, has revealed that HostelBookers is cheaper than its nearest competitor, Hostelworld.
A Spokesperson for Reed confirmed: “After completing a detailed comparison between HostelBookers.com and Hostelworld.com we found HostelBookers to be, on average, 8.7% cheaper across 784 properties in 77 destinations, which represents an average saving of £8.78.”
The costs were calculated, based on a booking for a double room for 2 people for 2 nights, from the 4th-5th September 2010. Between 2 and 26 properties were compared in each city, depending on the accommodation available.
The survey results showed that HostelBookers was cheaper in 95% of destinations and that savings were higher in expensive European capitals like London and Paris, where the average price difference is £14.75 and £8,88 for 2 people for 2 nights.
HostelBookers, committed to providing the best prices, are so confident that customers won’t find any of their properties cheaper elsewhere on the web that they will now refund double the difference, if a better deal can be found for the same travel dates and with the same booking conditions – Terms and conditions apply.
David Smith, COO at HostelBookers said: “We are delighted to be able to say that HostelBookers provide customers with the best value on budget accommodation and no service charges, for the second year running. The results from the Reed Business Insight study reaffirm our aim to guarantee the lowest prices and help people of all ages travel without spending a fortune”.
To celebrate, HostelBookers is running a competition with some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including 3 Travelex cash passports pre-loaded with £1000. Find out more on their website for a chance to win!
